Transportation is often described as a question of movement.

Moving people.

Moving goods.

Moving efficiently between places.

Yet transportation is rarely the destination.

It’s the thing we do between everything else we simply call life.

Between Two Points explores transportation, policy, safety, leadership, and the difficult work of turning ideas into reality. Through observations from the field and reflections on change, this publication examines what happens between vision and implementation.

Because plans are easy.

Implementation is hard.

About the Author

I’m a transportation planner whose career has included design, consulting, active transportation, municipal government, and regional planning.

Today I work in the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) space, helping communities move ideas from concept to implementation.

After more than two decades in transportation, I’ve become increasingly fascinated by the space between identifying a problem and creating meaningful change.

That’s the space this publication explores.
